Practice ResurrectionOn Easter we asked about Resurrection, "What IS it?" and "What do we DO with it?" We settled, with Wendell Berry and Eugene Peterson on this for the 2nd question: Resurrection is something we PRACTICE. It's a new reality we deliberately, over time, live into. So during the 50-day season of Eastertide, we're going to try to Practice Resurrection.

April 21, 2024 -- "Bringing it Back"
"The question for us, if we want to make a difference in the world, if we want to serve God, if we want to help other people to know Jesus, if we want to practice resurrection…is not whether we have lived or are living a perfect life, not whether we have done or are doing great things, not about all the skills and experience and certifications we bring to the table. The question for us, from Jesus, is “Do you love me?”"

April 14, 2024 -- "Breakfast with Jesus"
"And maybe that is how we also recognize Jesus in the world. We don’t see Jesus’ face and run to him. We notice the kinds of things Jesus DOES, and recognize that Christ is there. To practice resurrection is to notice where the Spirit of the Risen Christ is stirring and dive in."

April 7, 2024 -- "Practicing Resurrection" (John 20)
"So much of Christian faith should be about breaking cycles and shattering expectations. Often it isn’t. We talk about things like 'preserving Judeo-Christian values' or a 'Christian moral code'…and that's fine. But Jesus is way more cycle-breaking than we often think and act like. Jesus is always breaking cycles in us and through us."

March 31, 2024 -- "40 Days with the Risen Christ" (Luke 24)
"Resurrection is a deeply intimate, physical experience. It takes time and our whole bodies for resurrection to soak into us, reconstitute us, reinvigorate us to be a people who channel the abundant Life of God into a world of fearful scarcity."
